Seattle Councilwoman Sally Bagshaw is calling for villages of tiny houses to be built in every Council district.
Bagshaw is working with the King County Assessor to identify public land that could be used for the villages.
The homes cost around $2,400 to build. Bagshaw wants at least 100 homes in each district.
Each community would decide where the villages would be.
Referring to Seattle's Nov., 2014 State of Emergency for Homelessness, Bagshaw said:
“They declared the emergency. But we haven’t been treating it like an emergency.”
